Timeline: October – December 2021

Project Description:
Many Chief Consulting Ltd. facilitated a series of virtual regional sessions for the Indigenous Advisory Monitoring Committee (IAMC) for Line 3, supported by the Department of Natural Resources. These sessions targeted Indigenous communities along Enbridge’s decommissioned Line 3 pipeline route in Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba.

The sessions provided an online platform for participants to receive updates on the work of the Line 3 IAMC, learn about the Indigenous monitoring program and its findings, and engage in discussions about the impacted areas with Elders, Knowledge Keepers, and project partners.

Key Project Tasks:

  • Communications and Engagement Strategy: Designed and executed a targeted communications plan to promote awareness and participation in the regional sessions.

  • Stakeholder Outreach: Conducted outreach to over 1,500 Indigenous representatives and industry stakeholders along the pipeline route and managed online registration.

  • Virtual Event Delivery: Hosted three two-day regional sessions, providing technical support to speakers and participants to ensure seamless execution.

Outcomes:

  • Collaborated with project partners to develop a comprehensive communications approach aligned with the priorities of the Indigenous advisory group and lead organizations.

  • Successfully reached over 1,500 Indigenous stakeholders and industry partners, encouraging widespread participation.

  • Exceeded attendance goals, with more than 400 participants joining the sessions, surpassing previous engagement levels.

This project demonstrates MCC Ltd.’s expertise in stakeholder engagement and virtual event planning, fostering meaningful connections and knowledge-sharing among Indigenous communities and project stakeholders.
